Welcome to the Karl Schubert School Leipzig!

The Karl Schubert School Leipzig was founded in 2011 as an inclusive Waldorf school. It is the first school in Saxony to work inclusively right from the start and is thus doing pioneering work in this field. The school grounds are located in the south of Leipzig, in the Lößnig district, in the immediate vicinity of the Gethsemane Church. Close to the center (you can reach the city center in 10 minutes by S-Bahn), good transport connections and the nearby Auenwald characterize the excellent location.

Some of the existing buildings are reminiscent of the former manor that used to be on this site and whose buildings were used until the 1970s. After that, they had to give way to the functional office barracks of the Leipzig Road Administration, which used the site until after reunification. Now a school campus is being built, which, with its school garden, various farm animals and a large orchard in the center, our so-called "Green Center", revives echoes of the former agricultural use of the manor. A new middle and upper school building with various specialist rooms was opened in May Moved into 2019. Shortly thereafter, the newly built school restaurant with full kitchen went into operation. Two further extensive construction phases are planned for the coming years. At the beginning of 2021, construction of the multi-purpose hall (single-field sports hall with stage extension) plus workshop building began. In the third construction phase, a new building will be built for classes 1 to 4, the after-school care center and the kindergarten.

300 children, including almost 51 children with special needs, are currently attending classes 1 to 12. Both the lessons and the subsequent care in the after-school care center and school club (from class 5) are based on the educational goals of Waldorf education and anthroposophical healing and special education.  Fewo Leipzig  want to see school as a place to live, supported by a strong school community in which parents and staff members are equally involved.

Curious about our school?

With our information hours, we offer all interested parties the opportunity to get to know our school as part of a school tour and to discuss important aspects of the pedagogical concept in a subsequent discussion. Or you can visit our summer festival or the Advent Lights Market - here you can experience the school from one of its most beautiful sides. You can find the dates on our annual dates page.

The registration period for the 1st class in the 2023/24 school year runs until September 30, 2022.

A lateral entry into our existing classes is possible, provided that a corresponding place is or becomes free. Unfortunately, we can only put interested parties on the waiting list at the moment, as these classes are full.

If you are interested, please send us the fully completed registration form by post. Here's the one you need

If you would like to be informed regularly about the activities of our school, you are welcome to subscribe to our school mail. It appears regularly at the weekend during school hours.
